OpenDrive puts a cloud-based drive at your disposal, a drive that you can access from anywhere, a drive that can be used to store files in the cloud where they are safe from data loss incidents. Once the files are uploaded to the cloud, they can be easily synced and they can be easily shared with others.

OpenDrive is available for multiple platforms: the web (access OpenDrive from your browser window), Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X, iPhone, and Android. Focusing on Microsoft’s operating system, it must be said that OpenDrive provides support for the following Windows editions: Server 2003, Server 2008, XP, Vista, 7, 8.

The cloud drive this application puts at your disposal is displayed alongside all your other drives in Windows Explorer. By default, this cloud drive is populated with the following folders: My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, My Public Folder, and Trash.

You can easily access the aforementioned cloud drive by double clicking the OpenDrive icon in the system tray. And by right clicking the OpenDrive system tray icon you will be presented with a context menu that allows you to see how much cloud storage space you’re using, access your OpenDrive account, upgrade to a new plan, and more. Speaking about that, it must be mentioned that the free Basic plan puts 5GB of storage space at your disposal. For extra storage space consider upgrading to the Personal, Business, or Custom plan.

OpenDrive works in a manner similar to Dropbox: all the files you copy to the dedicated cloud drive are automatically uploaded to the cloud, just like all the files you store on the special Dropbox folder are automatically uploaded to the cloud. Once uploaded, the files can be synced with other devices, can be backed up to a specified location, and they can be shared with others (just paste the link to the file into an IM window, into an email, and so on).

Ease of use is the word that best describes OpenDrive: easily install the application, easily create an account, easily upload files to the cloud, easily share those files.

Pros

OpenDrive is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac, Android, and more. You can get started with a Basic plan which is free and puts 5GB of cloud storage space at your disposal. All the files you store in the cloud drive are automatically uploaded to the cloud. Files can be backed up, synced, and shared – all with the greatest of ease.

Cons

None that I could think of.
